35 Jamaicans to Participate in Paris Olympic Opening Ceremony

Jamaica will have a 35 member contingent participating in Friday’s opening ceremony for the games of the 33rd Olympiad in Paris.

This coming out of meeting late on Thursday between members of the JOA and the Jaaa’s.

30 Track and Field athletes including co flagbearer Shanieka Rickettes were chosen along with swimmer Josh Kirlew, the other flagbearer.

Men’s team captain Yona Knight Wisdom will also be on the parade.

The first ever Olympic opening ceremony to be held outdoors is set to get underway at 11.30am Jamaica time along the River Seine.

Over 300 thousand fans are expected to be in attendance .

Music legend Celine Deon is expected to perforn, there’s rumour that Lady Gaga who flew into Paris this week should also be taking to the stage.
