With just over three months to go before Reggae Sumfest takes over the city of Montego Bay in St James, the festival’s organisers have added two more of dancehall’s hottest acts to its bill.
For the third consecutive year, entertainer 450 has been added to the line-up for night one of the music festival. Following up on his debut in 2022, the Wild N Rich deejay graced the stage again in 2023, where he received rave reviews after pulling off a stellar set. He returns to the Catherine Hall stage for yet another showing on July 19.
Joining him on the night will be Mr ‘Kotch E Hat’ himself, Valiant, making his return to the Catherine Hall stage following his grand debut last year. Valiant is expected to follow up on his maiden appearance as he aims to solidify his space in the dancehall realm.
Outlining that Reggae Sumfest has always supported the careers of young acts, Reggae Sumfest director Cordel ‘Skatta’ Burrell said rebooking 450 and Valiant is an indication of the festival’s commitment to fostering the development of local talent.
“Sumfest has a rich history of offering up a platform for young entertainers to showcase their talents at an international level. We support growth and maturity, and that’s why we keep bringing back some of your favourite young artistes,” he said.

He added, “450 and Valiant have proven themselves worthy and have shown consistently that they deserve the spotlight and opportunity they have been given. We expect nothing but the best when they touch the stage in July.”
Valiant and 450 will join the likes of Aidonia and Jada Kingdom on festival night one. Veteran Reggae crooner, Beresford Hammond, international RnB superstar Babyface and visually impaired singing sensation Nigy Boy have also been named on the show’s line-up. They are slated to perform on Festival Night Two on July 20.
