The San Francisco 49ers moved top of the NFC West with a 36-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL at Lumen Field.

After losing three of their first five matches, the Niners registered their highest-scoring display of the campaign.

Quarterback Brock Purdy threw for 255 yards and three touchdown passes – two of those to George Kittle.

The first gave the Niners a 23-3 lead in the third quarter but, having blown double-digit leads to the LA Rams and Arizona Cardinals earlier this season, the game was far from over.

The Seahawks instantly piled the pressure back on the Niners, with Laviska Shenault returning the kick-off 97 yards for a touchdown.

And the Niners were fearing another capitulation when Kenneth Walker scored at the end of the third quarter to make it a six-point game.

Kittle’s second touchdown gave the 49ers breathing space but the Seahawks closed within five when quarterback Geno Smith connected with wide receiver Tyler Lockett.

However, Kyle Juszczyk made the game safe for the 49ers, running in the final score of the game from six yards to give his side a much-needed win.
