Fans of the Caribbean Premier League, CPL, believes the absence of the Jamaica Tallawahs has diminished the interest of Jamaicans in the tournament.
Jamaica the largest country in the English speaking Caribbean, lost its franchise in 2023.
The Tallawahs, who won the league in 2013, 2016, and 2022, were disbanded after the owners stated that they could not run them sustainably.
Antigua and Barbuda Falcons replaced the Tallawahs in the CPL for the 2024 season.
Veteran cricket commentator, Joseph ‘Reds’ Perriera, says without a franchise Jamaican fans will not be as keen to follow the matches.
