The Board of Directors of Access Financial Services Limited, AFS, has announced Michael Shaw as its new executive chairman.
Shaw, a former banking executive, who has over 30 years’ experience in the local and international financial sector, was first appointed to the board in June 2020.
His appointment comes after the board approved a request from Marcus James for a one-year leave of absence from the role of executive chairman effective June 27 this year.
The AFS board says James, who is taking time off for personal reasons, will remain a member of the board.
Meanwhile, in addition to Shaw’s appointment, the AFS board has appointed Charmaine Boyd-Walker as chairman of the board’s audit and risk assessment committee.
That committee was previously chaired by Marcus James.
The board has also appointed legal and corporate affairs manager, Carla Stephens-Mullings, as company secretary effective July 9 this year.
This follows the resignation of Sherri Murray.
