Dancehall artist Alkaline and New Era Productions have announced that the New Rules Festival will return to Jamaica on July 5, 2025. The event will take place at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium, a shift from its previous stagings in Kingston.
Alkaline’s team says the New Rules Festival, which debuted in Kingston in 2017 and returned in 2022, aims to provide a platform for both established and emerging talent while delivering a vibrant experience for attendees.
“Jamaica is the birthplace of reggae and dancehall, and we are honoured to bring New Rules Festival back home,” said Kereena Beckford, Alkaline’s Manager. “Our fans in Jamaica have always been the heartbeat of our brand, and we can’t wait to deliver an exhilarating experience that resonates with them,” she added.
The ‘man himself’ expressed excitement about the festival’s new location. “Trelawny is my mother’s hometown, so it’s only fitting. This summer, it’s the place to hold a vibe with my family and fans. Jamaica… The time is now,” Alkaline stated.

The decision to host the festival in Trelawny reflects a broader effort to reach fans across Jamaica. “Over the years, Kingston & St Andrew municipal has been the home to many big festivals. However, entertainment lovers from the island’s western side have been somewhat excluded. Alkaline and New Era Production’s decision to take the show to Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium this year is to cater to a wider fanbase,” Beckford explained.
Rickardo Shuzzr, Alkaline’s publicist, highlighted the economic and cultural impact of the festival’s western location. “The Western region has contributed much to the culture that keeps our nation viable. Our team will always find creative ways to aid the nation’s development, ignite economic growth, and, most importantly, cater to Alkaline’s fans.”
Tickets for the festival will go on sale starting March 7, 2025, through TicketGateway.
The Jamaica leg of the New Rules Festival is part of a broader multi-city lineup, with additional performances planned for Boston, London, Toronto, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines in 2025.
