Olympic women’s 100-metres champion, Julien Alfred, says she intends to close her season on a high at the diamond league finale.
Alfred is set to run in the women’s 100 metres which will feature six of the women she lined up against in the final at the Paris Olympic games on August 3 and that includes Jamaica’s Tia Clayton.
Alfred is also set to compete at the Diamond League finale in Brussels on September 14.
St Lucia is eagerly preparing to welcome home its national hero, Alfred, who made history at the Summer Olympics with a gold medal in the 100 meters and a silver in the 200 meters.
The Julien Alfred Homecoming Celebration is in full planning mode, led by a special committee chaired by the Minister of Sports, Kenson Casimir.
This celebration will be a national event to honour Alfred’s incredible achievements on the global stage.
The 23-year-old says she’s looking forward to getting back to St. Lucia.
