Member of the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP’s, Communications Task Force, Marlon Morgan, says the prime minister is expected to update the nation on the progress of its work to replace Dr. Nigel Clarke as finance minister in coming days.
He was speaking on Nationwide at Five at the JLP’s Area Council One meeting in Pembroke Hall on Monday.
In August, Dr. Clarke was appointed as deputy managing director at the International Monetary Fund, IMF. That appointment takes effect this Thursday.
However, Prime Minister Andrew Holness is yet to announce a successor, giving rise to speculations in the public sphere as to who will take over the critical finance portfolio.
Mr. Morgan says the announcement is imminent.
