South America, World Cup Qualifying on Thursday defending champions Argentina were held 1-1 by Venezuela.
Argentina’s goal came from Nicholas Otamendi. Argentina remain atop the standings with 19 points, three more than Colombia who suffered an upset 1-0 defeat away to Bolivia.
Record world champions Brazil went to Chile and pulled off a 2-1 victory to get their qualifying campaign back on track.
Igor Jesus and Luiz Henriquez got the goals for Brazil who are up to fourth in the standings.
In another game Ecuador and Paraguay played out a goalless draw.
