Chris Blackwell, the music mogul-turned-investor, has placed two properties on the market – Strawberry Hill Hotel in the Blue Mountains and The Caves Hotel in Negril.

The properties are being sold for nearly US$36 million, according to information posted by Realtor Alex Miranda of Compass Realty, a Miami-based firm that’s acting as broker. The listings have been on the market for nearly four months.

The realtor has not replied to requests for comment.

The hotel, grounds and farmlands at Strawberry Hill, which is listed for US$16.8 million, spans 47 acres, with views of Kingston, and includes 13 cottages, each designed with a blend of colonial and contemporary architecture.

Once a coffee plantation, the property was converted by Blackwell, now 87, into a retreat that has attracted the likes of Bob Marley and other celebrities. The estate also features a spa, infinity pool, and a restaurant known for its authentic Jamaican cuisine.

The Caves Hotel, which is on offer for US$18.9 million, comprises 12 cottages and suites located on the cliffs of Negril.

Room rates at Strawberry Hill for bookings in late September are US$350 to US$650 per night; and US$500 to US$700 per night at The Caves.
