While Brook BK has emerged onto the music scene with a unique flair, she also believes she embodies the core characteristics needed to be one of the industry's greatest dancehall artistes.

Currently basking in the success of her latest release, Toxic, the artiste shares that the project has offered her many musical opportunities which she intends to fully exploit. Toxic is a collaboration with 1 Traxs, courtesy of Globis Musica, and managed to peak at No. 21 on the iTunes charts.

"The inspiration behind this project was the harsh reality of toxic relationships, so its relatability made it marketable. I live by the notion 'everything done in the dark must one day come to light'. While making it clear that I understand that relationships are far from perfect, this adds a different layer of relatability to the track," she said. "The strategy we used to put together this song and the visuals for this single was the 'cliffhanger' strategy. We built up suspense throughout the visuals, and ended the video with a plot twist that left viewers wondering and wanting more."

Brook BK said that the anticipation for part two of Toxic is at an all-time high.

"We are considering dropping it at an unexpected time. Listeners have made the visuals of the song such a trending topic, that when they see the actresses in real life they are recognisable," she added. Her team is also gearing up for the release of her follow-up single, Spend Money, which is dedicated to the ladies. She reasoned that since the ladies went through hurt in Toxic, Spend Money will serve as a 'bounce back' for them.

"I have a team that I have been working with since the beginning to ensure that I receive the best results as an up-and-coming artiste, and with their guidance, we intend to put out music that is unique, but also connects with the target audience while taking advantage of social media, real time, promoting and networking," she said.

Brook BK said that one of her main aims is to connect with women of various demographics through her music.
