Two more teams Campion College and last season’s beaten finalist Hydel High today booked their spots in the quarter finals of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup football competition.
Campion secured the second spot in Group-1 behind champions Mona after beating St. Jago High 1-nil at GC Foster College to finish their round of 16 campaign with 6 points, three behind group winners and defending champions Mona who closed out the round of 16 with maximum nine points after turning back St. Georges College 3-nil.
Hydel took second spot in group three with a 1-nil win over Wolmer’s, while Kingston College topped the group on goal difference despite losing 1-nil to STATHS.
The last three spots will be filled tomorrow when two and four are decided.
Tivoli Gardens needs only a draw against Eltham to secure the second spot from group two, while Eltham must win.
In group 4, Jamaica College needs only a draw against already qualified St. Catherine to advance, while a big win for Calabar over Charlie Smith and a Jamaica College defeat could see the boys from Red Hills Road advancing.
