Cavalier Gets Sponsorship Boost Ahead of Champions Cup R-of-16 Clash

Caribbean football club champions Cavalier received a major sponsorship boosts ahead of their crunch showdown with Inter-Miami in the second leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup round of 16 clash at the National Stadium on Thursday.

Red Stripe will be the official beer partner for the game and will donate $5 million to the club. The Sports Development Foundation, SDF has contributed $10 million, Wisynco has contributed $3.5 million and will be the official hydration partner, while the Jamaica Tourist Board will under write the cost of the entire Cavalier aggregation including players, coaches and backroom staff staying at the Marriott Courtyard for three nights leading up to and after the game.

Technical director of Cavalier, Rudolph Spied, told Nationwide Sports the club is happy the hard work is finally paying off.

Director of Tourism Donovan White, who hosted Monday’s press briefing, says this is a win-win for Jamaica and its tourism product as well as Cavalier Football Club.

Meanwhile, the Inter Miami team with their Argentine superstar Leo Messi are due in the island on Wednesday. The MLS club will stage one training session the evening of their arrival.

Cavalier lost the first leg 2-0 in Florida last Thursday. The winner on aggregate over the two legs will advance to the quarter-finals.
