The CHASE Fund is refuting claims made by Opposition Spokesperson on Health, Dr. Alfred Dawes, regarding funding for repairs at the Bustamante Hospital for Children.
During a media briefing on Monday, Dr. Dawes stated that money from the CHASE Fund was available to fix the faulty air conditioning units at the hospital’s operating theatres.

But in a statement on Wednesday, the CHASE Fund says it is in receipt of an application dated May 9, 2024, from the Bustamante Hospital for Children to renovate the operating theatres.
It says this application is currently being evaluated for consideration, subject to the availability of funds.
