Classy Intrestntimesahead to slam rivals in Sunday’s feature

INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD is beginning to have that Triple Crown look about him ahead of next month’s 2000 Guineas, especially after recovering from interference at the off to outclass rivals in the Prince Consort Stakes.

It takes a special three-year-old to overcome being wiped out at the start of a seven-furlong event, afterwards hitting the front leaving the furlong pole while allowing weight all around.

Returning for Sunday’s Kingston at seven and a half furlongs, facing practically the same cast with the exception of PAPER WORK, who scored an eye-catching win at five furlongs straight when beating maidens second-time-out, INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD must be fancied without fear to notch a fourth straight win.

Champion two-year-old of last year, clocking 1:39.2 at a mile in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes, INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD showed from then that he should be backed against his peers until defeated.

Similar to Prince Consort Stakes runner-up CROWN CHASER, who had impressed with a nine-length win on his January 28 debut but outclassed when meeting INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD, PAPER WORK will have his work cut out against the favourite, who continues to look razor-sharp at exercise, beating United States-bred stablemate CHOCOMO in a six-furlong gallop on Monday.

Bred with classic blood in his veins, INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD’s dam is My Friend Lucy (He’stherealthing-Executive Profile), a half-sister to Ahwhofah, who foaled Triple Crown winner and multiple grade-one champion She’s A Maneater.

Since fitted with a visor when losing in blinkers on his December 2 debut at five and a half furlongs, INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD moved from wet-behind-the-ears to Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes winner in 24 days, stunning rivals at 9-1 with a commanding two and a half length victory.

Trainer Jason DaCosta and mom, Elizabeth, could very well pull off a weekend of Guineas prep victories with home-breds – COMEHOMETOME in the Portmore and INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD in the Kingston - setting the stage for an interesting start to next month’s three-year-old classics.
