Delegates are expected to return to the polls later this year to decide who will run the affairs of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association, J-3As, for the next four years.
Garth Gayle is the current president after defeating sprinting great Donald Quarrie 236 to 28 at the association’s Annual General Meeting on November 28, 2020.
No one has so far indicated a desire to Challenge Gayle for the top Job.
However, speaking on Sportsmax, head coach of Racer track club, Glenn Mills, says despite recent blunders by the current administration it would be difficult for a challenger to be successful.
In April, Nationwide Sports reported the Adidas proposed to pump over $5.7 billion over eight years into the country’s track and field programme.
Mills says that kind of money would make a significant difference in funding the association’s programmes.
Mills says his comments are not coloured by his association with Adidas.
