CWI Suspends Joseph For Two Matches

Cricket West Indies has imposed a two match suspension on fastbowler Alzarrie Joseph following an on-field incident during the third One Day International between West Indies and England at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Wednesday.

CWI’s Director of cricket Miles Bascombe says Joseph’s behavior did not align with the core values of the organization and that his conduct could not be overlooked.

Bascombe says the action to suspend Joseph was to ensure the gravity of the situation is fully acknowledged.

Joseph also issued a public apology, acknowledging the incident and expressing regret, saying his passion got the better of him.

Joseph says he has already apologised to team captain Shai Hope and the rest of his team-mates.

The lanky pacer Joseph lost his cool on Wednesday and was seen leaving the field after getting into a heated exchange with t Hope, over field placement during the game..

Joseph was not pleased with the field set by Hope for him at the start of the fourth over of the match.
