Dayton Campbell: PNP Will Improve Farmers’ Livelihood

Opposition Spokesperson on Agriculture, Dr. Dayton Campbell, says the next PNP government will put several measures in place to improve the lives of farmers islandwide if the party is victorious in the next general election.

This includes plans to tackle praedial larceny.

Dr. Campbell was speaking at a PNP meeting in South Manchester on Sunday.

He further told comrades that a PNP government would also seek to continue irrigation plans put in place by former party leader Michael Manley.

Meanwhile, Dr. Campbell says the PNP would use local farmers to help implement its proposed islandwide school-feeding programme.

The proposal was put forward by Opposition Spokesperson on Education, Senator Damion Crawford.

The proposed school feeding programme would see needy primary and secondary students receiving meals daily valued at $400 per meal.
