Exced Heats opened their season by beating Mico Wasp 36-31 to lift the Clifton Gunner Shaw trophy at the Stadium courts, on Sunday.
The match was preceded by the Opening ceremony for the Howard McCatty Community Basketball League.
21 teams from across the Corporate Area and St. Catherine will compete in the 2024 staging of the league.
The Wasp ended the first half leading 19-11.
Coach of the Heats, Rohan Robinson, says they made some adjustment during the break which resulted in them out scoring the Wasp 25-12 in the second half.

In other result, Edgewater Wolverines beat Linkup Allstars 55-47.
And Grants Pen Giants beat Christian Gardens 65-32.
