Some sections of the island are experiencing heavy to intense showers and thunderstorm activity as a result of a trough system affecting the island.
The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) has issued a flash flood warning, particularly for some northwestern, central and eastern districts, while a flash-flood watch is in effect for the remainder of the island.
The BMS said rainfall accumulations between 2 and 3 inches are expected, and due to already saturated conditions, flooding is possible in some areas.
The flash flood warning will be terminated at 6 p.m. or sooner if conditions warrant.
