Nationwide Sports understands Shashalee Forbes has taken the place of Shericka Jackson in the women’s 100 metres at the Olympic Games in Paris.
According to out source, Forbes was informed by team management late on Tuesday following a technical meeting, that she will run in the women’s 100 metres.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Shericka Jackson and Tia Clayton were the three originally confirmed for the event from their performance at the National Championships.
On Monday our news centre reported that Jackson, the reigning 200 metres World champion, had been nursing an injury.
However, in an interview with our news centre on Tuesday, Jackson’s coach, Stephen Francis said the 30-year-old sprinter is 100 per cent fit.
Meanwhile, Francis refused to comment on reports that Jackson visited renowned doctor Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Muller–Wohlfahrt, for an injury she picked up while competing ahead of the Paris Games.
