Medical doctor and former councillor for the Ocho Rios division in St. Ann, Dr. Rohan Williams has died.
Dr. Williams died at a hospital in Washington D.C. on Sunday night. He was 57.
Dr. Williams had been battling cancer for nearly four years.
As councillor, Dr. Williams represented the Ocho Rios division for the People’s National Party between 2012 and 2016.
He operated Williams Medical Centre on Main Street, Ocho Rios, only giving it up after illness prevented him from travelling between his home in the US and Jamaica.
His brother, Neville Williams, a former Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, councillor, also represented the Ocho Rios division.
He spoke with our news centre on Monday.
