Principal of Tacky High School, Errol Bascoe has been charged with buggery.

This was confirmed by his attorney, Valerie Neita Robertson.

Nationwide News understands that Mr. Bascoe surrendered to the St. Mary Police on Sunday in the company of his attorneys.

He remains in custody.

Mr. Bascoe’s arrest follows allegations of sexual misconduct by an unemployed 23-year-old man in Gayle, St. Mary.

The complainant reported to the police that he had sought out Mr. Bascoe for help in dealing with legal troubles.

According to the police report, one day this year while at Mr. Bascoe’s house, the high school principal allegedly had sex with the 23-year-old.

According to the police report, the man said given the circumstances in which he found himself in Mr Bascoe’s home, he felt manipulated into having sex by Mr. Bascoe.

The man was reportedly taken to hospital where he was treated for lower abdominal pain.

Mr. Bascoe denied the allegations against him, referring to them as scurrilous and malicious. The allegations have resulted in Mr. Bascoe resigning as PNP standard-bearer in Western St. Mary.

In his resignation letter to PNP president Mark Golding, Mr. Bascoe said he wanted to dedicate his full attention to clearing his good name.

Despite pleading his innocence, Mr. Bascoe says he’s stepped aside as caretaker for West St. Mary in recognition that the allegations could potentially impact the PNP’s reputation.

He’s expected to appear in court on Thursday.
