Sprint star Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce made a late withdrawal from today’s World Continental Tour meet in Lucern Switzerland.
The 37 year old Fraser Pryce was scheduled to run in the women’s 100m, but did not show for the start.
The twice Olympic 100m champion last competed in Europe at the Budapest World Championship last Summer and has only ran four races this season, all at the National Stadium.
Also pulling out of the meet today was National sprint hurdles champion Rasheed Broadbell.
Lanae Tava Thomas was the best placed Jamaican at the meet with a second place finish in the women’s 200m in 22.60 seconds, Jodean Williams was fifth in 23.01… Jessica Gbai of the Ivory Coast won in 22.57 seconds
Kemba Nelson produced the third fastest time in the women’s 100m in 11.21 seconds.
Serena Cole had the fifth best time 11.24 seconds, Sashalee Forbes 7th 11.31 seconds, the same time as Jodean Williams, Krystal Sloley 10th 11.38 and Briana Williams 12th 11.50.
In the men’s hundred Rohan Watson was the best among the Jamaicans with 10.32 seconds, the ninth fastest… Michael Campbell 10.37 ended with the 12th best time.
Rusheen McDonald’s struggles continued, the national record holder returned 47.41 seconds the 11th best time on the night.
