Fresh King, given name Rohan Clearly, has survived being stabbed, burnt and left for dead by a friend who was studying occultism in 2014, and two crashes between December 2018 and April 2019. The latter crash claimed the life of his babymother Junique Chung. But today, the entertainer said he is riding on a high from his recently released EP titled Next Level. Among the tracks is a song titled Deposit.

"It a talk about progress in life, hard work and money. Deposit a gwan good and people in the streets a talk about it. It release less than a month ago and it have over 400,000 views. Mi a do this alone from dem time deh and it has been very challenging, but mi a warrior and mi have to know how to hold firm and mi nago do the wrong ting to reach on a level," he said. Reflecting on the cave incident, Fresh King opined that he got strength as he lay bleeding in the cave.

"It influence how mi write mi song dem. Mi experience pain so mi sing with pain," he said. Then in 2019, he had another unforgettable nightmare.

"It was a good day for us (he and Chung) until after mi go to the stage show and wake up in the hospital and hear say mi babymother dead. It was one of the worst experience of mi life. When dem tell mi say she dead, mi fall back inna coma instantly. Mi hear people always talk about depression, but mi never know what it was until that happen. It was horrible and some people had all type of things to say about it and that mi sacrifice mi babymother and dem tings deh," he said.

As he manages his clothing store, music career and other businesses, being a father to his seven-year-old daughter remains his top priority.

"Being a real father comes with a lot of roles, but I do my best. More time mi see other children with them mother, mi feel frass out because mi know say she no have any mother. She is loved the right way and in every possible way I know how, and her mother side of family and my side love her. So she get extra love, but that still don't give her a mother. So mi as her father just give her that double love and I will never stop loving her," Fresh King said.
