LAST YEAR’S Beaten finalists, Gaynstead, remained perfect in the Urban ISSA Schoolgirls Netball competition after their latest game on Tuesday.
Playing at home, the Dalton Hinds-coached team picked up their third win in a row and stayed on top in Zone D after an impressive 91-8 demolition of Bridgeport High. Earlier, Gaynstead’s juniors were also dominant, beating Bridgeport’s under-16s 44-15.
Vauxhall also scored a double on the day. Playing away to St Andrew High School in Zone F, their juniors first got by their opponents 23-12 before their seniors sealed the deal with a 29-19 win.
The Tracey Griffiths-coached Wolmer’s Girls had a hiccup on Tuesday with their seniors losing out to Camperdown 28-12. However, Wayne Stewart-coached Camperdown failed against Wolmer’s juniors, last year’s beaten finalists in a 39-11 turnaround. Wolmer’s juniors have stayed perfect in Zone E.
Campion had to keep their wits about them when they visited Greater Portmore in Zone C action. The visitors’ juniors came out 25-16 winners before the seniors had to eke out a 29-21 win.
In the other game on Tuesday, former powerhouses, Convent of Mercy Academy (Alpha), scored a good 19-7 win over Innswood in Zone D junior action.
