Government senator, Sherene Golding Campbell, says House Speaker Juliet Holness is on sound legal ground in her treatment of reports from the Auditor General’s Department.
The matter again came to the fore last Friday after news emerged that the House Speaker had returned two reports from the Auditor General with without tabling them in Parliament.
Mrs. Holness has ruled that the reports were not submitted under the correct legislation.
The Opposition People’s National Party, PNP has been critical of the Speaker’s handling of the reports.
Senator Golding Campbell says the Opposition must explain the legal basis of their challenge to the Speaker’s ruling.
