Government senator, Abka Fitz-Henley, says the admission by People’s National Party, PNP, president Mark Golding that his party would require five years to fulfil promises made in the 2025/2026 budget debate, has widened a trust deficit between the opposition and Jamaicans.
Fitz-Henley made the comment at a Jamaica Labour Party meeting in Fayval Williams’ Eastern St. Andrew constituency this week.
Williams, the finance minister, has warned that the PNP’s promises could have a FINSAC-style impact on the economy, similar to the meltdown of the 1990s.
Fitz-Henley also took a jab at Golding and the Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Julian Robinson who were embroiled in a dual citizenship controversy last year.
