3 months ago 22

Opposition Leader Mark Golding has called on the nation’s leaders to ensure the election year is not marred by violence and intimidation.

It was not immediately clear whether Golding was referring to specific incidents or reports.

The opposition leader also used the opportunity to condemn what he described as offensive and divisive rhetoric from political platforms.

In 2024, Golding was the subject of racially charged attacks from some members of the governing Jamaica Labour Party.

Member of Parliament for South West St. Catherine, Everald Warmington, has called on Golding to go back to England. He says no white man should lead Jamaica.

The opposition leader is calling on the police to act in a non-partisan and professional manner.
