MINISTER OF Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has sent best wishes to members of Jamaica’s team to the World Athletics Under-20 Championships, which began yesterday in Lima, Peru.
In her message, Grange encouraged the young athletes to “enjoy the experience of representing Jamaica on the world stage”.
The minister said the country was “already very proud of the athletes” for qualifying for the U20 World Championships and said she was “confident that they will do their best”.
“Your best will be good enough,” said Grange.
She urged the country to give full support to the entire team, including coaches and officials.
“Surround them with only love and positive energy and be mindful of the effects that social media posts could have on the young athletes,” said Grange.
