Tim Storms, the Guinness World Record holder for the World’s Lowest Bass, is set to make his ACAFEST début on November 2 at the NCU Gymnatorium in Mandeville.

Storms first performed in Jamaica in 1995 at the National Arena as part of the US-based Acappella Vocal Band (AVB). During that performance, his bass was so powerful that it briefly damaged the subwoofers, interrupting the show. He captured the Guinness World Record for the lowest note recorded by a human in 2010, and again in 2012, a title he still holds today.

Over the years, Storms has built an impressive repertoire, having sung with some of the most popular vocal groups in the United States, including Acappella, AVB, Vocal Union, and Rescue. His talents have taken him all over the world, doing tours in Russia, China, and, earlier this year, Zambia.

ACAFEST producer, Dwayne Bailey, expressed excitement about this year’s event.

“We are thrilled that Tim has accepted our invitation to be a part of ACAFEST 2024. This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime event that fans of a cappella music will not want to miss. We are proud of the event’s achievements and influence over the years. This staging will be extra special as it is dedicated to the memory of our friend and collaborator Roger Davis, who passed away two years ago. In his honour, part of the proceeds from the event will help students at NCU,” Bailey said.
