GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC):The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has announced a 13-man squad for the Guyana Harpy Eagles’ final two rounds of the 2025 West Indies Championship, with key changes following the absence of star spinner Gudakesh Motie, who has franchise cricket commitments, and opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul, who is said to be carrying an injury.
In their place, the selectors have brought in left-arm spinner Ashmead Nedd, who will be making his first appearance this season, and recalled promising fast bowler Isai Thorne, whose inclusion is expected to strengthen the team’s push for crucial fast-bowling points.
The Harpy Eagles will bow into action again on April 2 against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Warner Park, St Kitts, before closing the tournament against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at home in the seventh and final round.
The Harpy Eagles currently lead the 2025 West Indies Championship points table with 102.6 after five rounds, maintaining a slim lead over the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force with 101.
The Leeward Islands Hurricanes sit in third place with 79.6 to round off the top three. Barbados Pride, Jamaica Scorpions, Windward Islands Volcanoes, Combined Campuses and Colleges, and West Indies Academy complete the standings in that order.
Full squad: Captain Tevin Imlach, Vice-Captain Kemol Savory, Raymond Perez, Matthew Nandu, Kevlon Anderson, Kevin Sinclair, Ronaldo Alimohamed, Keemo Paul, Nial Smith, Veerasammy Permaul, Ashmead Nedd, Isai Thorne and Richie Looknauth.
