The West Indies produced easily their best day so far on the current tour of England, as they closed in on the home team’s 416 all out at the close on day two of the second test at Trent bridge in Nottingham.
Kavem Hodge was the starman with a maiden test century as the Windies closed on 351 for 5, just 65 runs behind.
Hodge slammed 120 off 171 balls and hit 19 fours. He also shared in a fourth wickets stand of 175 with Alick Athanze who missed out on his maiden test ton after he was removed for 82 by England captain Ben Stokes.
Athanaze slammed 10 fours and a six.
Captain Kraigge Brathwaite made 48, Mikyle Louis 28 and Jamaica’s Kirk McKenzie 11.
Jason Holder is not out 23 and with him Joshua Da Silva 32.
Shoaib Bashir has so far taken 2 for 100.
