Hydel’s Teixiera Johnson Cruises in 200m Heats

100-metres champion Teixiera Johnson of Hydel cruised to a nippy 25.28 seconds clocking this morning in the first round heats of the class four girls 200-metres at the Grace Kennedy boys and girls Championships at the National Stadium.

Johnson who’s favoured for the event will go into tomorrow’s semifinals with the fastest time.

In the class three event Shannia Campbell of St. Jago was quickest with 24.76 seconds.

100-metres winner Natrece East of Wolmer’s 24.85 seconds and Sashana Johnson of Hydel 24.55 seconds also made smooth progress.

Thirteen finals are on the schedule for day three, with the triple jump for class one boys the first to be decided.

The 400-metres finals all classes should take the spotlight in the evening session.

Champions Kingston College are holding a slight lead over Jamaica College after 8 finals scored with 67-and-a-half points to JC’s 67, while on the girls side, Edwin Allen with 81 points lead champions Hydel with 37 points.
