Jamaica’s ice hockey team won their final match of the Challenger Series, beating Lebanon 12- 8 at the College Ice Arena in Toronto.
In a pulsating match played before hundreds of cheering supporters, Jamaica took the early lead in the first period, scoring first, but fell behind after Lebanon scored three unanswered goals over the next 15 minutes of the first period.
During the second of three 20 minute periods, Jamaica regrouped and fought back to take the lead twice 5-3 and 6-4 lead, only to see Lebanon claw back to level the scores at 6-6.
Good defensive work then ensured Jamaica tightened their grip on the game by racking up a 12-7 advantage.
Lebanon scored a consolation eight goal to end the match 12-8.
