Jamaica posted one of the fastest victories at this year’s West Indies Rising Stars Under 15 cricket championship after easing past the Windward Islands by ten wickets in their final round game at the Sir Vivian Richards Ground in St. Johns Antigua this morning.
The Jamaicans needed just 26 overs to dismiss the Windwards for 86. Only Jamie Wickham, 42, made an impression against Andrew Lloyd 4 for 25 and two wickets each for Eckoney Robinson, Raheim Livingston and Wayne Plummer.
Wicketkeeper Luwaine Pryce, 32, and Rajae McGeachy, 30, then shared in an unbeaten 87 run opening stand to steer Jamaica to their their victory in just 12 overs.
Trinidad and Tobago also registered a swift victory, they beat the Leeward Islands by six wickets at the Antigua Recreation Ground.
The Leewards were bowled out for 92 in the 26th over and Trinidad and Tobago raced to 93 for 4 in 16.4 overs.
In the top of the table clash game at Coolidge champions Barbados were just a short time ago restricted to 209 for 8 by Guyana who’ll start their reply shortly.
