Jamaica Still Winless in U17 Rising Stars Tournament

Jamaica’s final round game at the West Indies Rising Stars Under 17 50 over tournament against the Windward Islands was this morning abandoned with a ball bowl because of rain at the Gilbert Park in Trinidad and Tobago.

Jamaica are yet to win a game in this format after defeats to Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados .

The defeat against Trinidad and Tobago came Sunday by 10 runs at Preysal.

Pajay Nelson slammed 53 in a failed victory by by the young Jamaicans who chased 113 for victory in a game reduced to 20 overs aside due to rain.

Jamaica in the end reached 102 for 9 with Aaiden Racha bagging 5 for 13.

Trinidad and Tobago can clinch the title today if they avoid defeat against Barbados at Inshan Ali Park.

Latest score in that game, the Trinidad and Tobago bowled out for 159 runs and Barbados yet to respond.

T&T, with three wins in four matches, with one no-result, will be crowned champions if they beat the Barbadians or the match ends in a no-result. Barbados have two wins, with their two other games ending in a no-result in this rain-affected tournament. The entire second round was washed out by rain.
