Jamaica Swimmers Rise up Table at CARIFTA

Team Jamaica continues to make big moves in the Bahamas, at the 37th CARIFTA Swimming championships.

Following their performance on Day 1 and Day 2, Team Jamaica had some outstanding swims last night increasing their medal count to 31……11-Gold, 8-Silver and 12-Bronze.

Kai Alert and Kai Radcliffe dominated their age group categories taking the gold in the 11-12 girls and 13-14 boys respectively.

Sabrina Lyn captured the gold in the 18 and over girls category with a personal best of 32-point-54 seconds.

Jamaica also bagged three three Gold in the 100-Meters freestyle. event.

Alert won gold in a time of 1-minute-01-point-81 seconds, with Alexandria Cogle taking silver in a lifetime best 1-minute-point-96 seconds.

Noland Barrett took the gold in the 13-14 boys category in a time of 54-point-46 seconds, his compatriot Matthew Kennedy placed 3rd in 55-point-84 seconds.

Lyn secured yet another gold with an easy win clocking 56-point-69 seconds, a personal best

After three days of competition Jamaica is 4th with 405 points, behind Trinidad and Tobago with 466, the Cayman Islands 495 and the home team Bahamas in first place with 804 points.

Team manager, Annelise Denny, says the Jamaicans had to quickly adopt to the weather conditions.
