Defending champions Hydel High clocked the fastest time going into tomorrow’s final of the girl’s 4X100metres at the 128th staging of the Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
The quartet of Alliah Baker, Shania Myers, Shemonique Hazle and Juwonna Whitehorne posted 45.99 seconds to win heat 13, today.
Other Jamaican schools to advance to the final are, Wolmer’s Girls, St. Jago High, Edwin Allen High, Holmwood Technical and St. Mary High.
In the field events, Jamaican athletes finished in the top four spots in the girls’ triple jump.
Jade-Ann Dawkins of St. Jago won gold with 13.01 metres, silver went to Jaeda Robinson of Immaculate Conception with 12-point-70, Holmwood’s Celine Riddle was third with 12.69 and Richelle Stanley of STETHS 4th with 12.55 metres.
Shaniqua Williams of Wolmer’s won gold with a jump of 1-point-73 metres and her teammate Danielle Noble the silver also with 1-point-73 metres in the girl’s High jump.
Excelsior’s Najhada Seymoure bagged the silver in the Girls’ discus with a throw of 48.08 metres.
Marla-kay Lampart of Clarendon College picked up the silver and St. Jago’s Kimeka Smith the bronze with throws of 13.64 and 13.46 metres respectively in the girls shot put.
In the girls’ Long Jump, Rohanna Sudlow of St. Catherine won the bronze with a leap of 5.83 metres.
