Jamaican Women Lead Standing After day-1 of Golf Championship

The Jamaican ladies team ended day one of the 67th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship atop the leaderboard at the Iberostar Golf Course in, the Dominican Republic.

The scores of two of the four ladies were responsible for Jamaica’s position.

New comer to the team Kierra Williams and long-time representative Emily Mayne both shot even par 72 to put Jamaica in the driving seat.

The ladies are vying for the George Teale trophy.

Pueto Rico with a plus one score and the Dominican Republic with plus 13 were in second and third respectively.

The men’s team who are playing for the Hoerman Cup were in third place with a plus eight score.

Perennial winner Puerto Rico were leading the team section with a minus three score, while the Dominican Republic were holding down the second place with a plus one score.
