Jamaica’s 2024 Diamond League winners Ackeem Blake and Tajay Gayle will afterall gain wild cards to next year’s World Athletics Championships in Tokyo Japan.
Blake won the men’s 100m at the Diamond League final and Gayle the Men’s Long Jump.
World Athletics had mentioned that they would not award this year’s Diamond League winners with wildcards to Japan, but would instead issue them to next year’s champions since the Diamond League will be over before the start of the World Championships.
However the sport’s governing body has made an about turn and all Diamond League winners this year will be issued wildcards.
