There are reports in England that the Jamaica Football Federation has formally approached the English FA with a request to transfer striker Mason Greenwood’s registration in order for him to become a Reggae boy.
The FA is said to have accepted the request and the process is now underway.
Greenwood won one England cap against Iceland in 2020, but was sent home from the camp shortly after because he broke COVID quarantine rules by inviting women back to his hotel room.
Jamaica has long fancied the former Manchester United player and have been in touch with him since charges on suspicion of multiple offences, including rape were dropped.
The appointment of former England manager Steve McLaren as Jamaica’s head coach appears to have had an impact on Greenwood who is now playing his club football with Marseille in France.
