The JLP Caucus in the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation is calling for PNP Councillor, Jesse James Clarke, to resign as Opposition Junior Spokesman on Health.
The Caucus says if Clarke does not step down, he should be fired by PNP President, Mark Golding.
The call follows several claims made by Clarke regarding the water quality in Kingston and St. Andrew.
According to Clarke, the water provided by the National Water Commission, NWC is unsafe for drinking.
The Junior Spokesman alleged that residents of the Corporate Area have been drinking contaminated water, putting their health and well-being at risk.
However, the NWC has dismissed the claims as false and misleading.
JLP Councillor, Beverley Prince, says Clarke’s comments are a desperate, political ploy by the PNP.
