A member of the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, Communication Taskforce, Marlon Morgan, says the party will redouble its efforts to address longstanding issues affecting Jamaicans.
This as he reacted to the latest findings from the Nationwide/Bluedot Polls, powered by Total Tools, which show that a plurality of eligible voters believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.
The poll found that 44 per cent of Jamaicans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.
The figure held steady when compared to Nationwide‘s previous poll in February, where 44 per cent of Jamaicans then also believed the country was headed in the wrong direction.
Another 27 per cent believe the country is heading the right direction. This is a one percentage point drop when compared to February when 28 per cent of Jamaicans believed the country was headed in the right direction.
Morgan notes that the poll findings come at a time when Jamaicans were impacted by Hurricane Beryl. He says the government has been working to address what he described as “pain points”.
And, while Mr. Morgan admits there may be some who are experiencing ‘Holness administration fatigue’, he’s urging people to focus instead on the value they’re deriving from the Holness-administration.
