Deputy leader of the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, Desmond McKenzie, the man in charge of Area Council One, says labourites are unfazed by claims from the opposition People’s National Party, PNP, that it will take control of key constituencies in Kingston and St. Andrew.
McKenzie was responding on Thursday evening to remarks made by the PNP’s Dennis Gordon at a political meeting.
Among the seats being targeted by the PNP is West Rural St. Andrew, represented by the JLP’s Juliet Cuthbert Flynn since 2016. The PNP’s Joan Gordon-Webley will be seeking to unseat Cuthbert Flynn.
McKenzie says he’s confident the seat will not change hands.
