President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, JOA, Christopher Samuda, says it was an easy decision to honour national 200 metres champion Bryan Levell’s request for financial support as he continues his preparation for the Paris Olympics.
Levell of Uptimum Performance Track Club won the men’s 200 metres at the recent championships in 19.97 seconds booking his place on the plane to Paris.
The former Edwin Allen High standout’s request was answered with $1 million support from the apex body through the young Jamaican change makers award.
Samuda says assisting athletes to realise their dream is the core of the JOA’s mandate.
He says he hopes this will help to further unlock Levell’s potential to be a world beater at the Olympics.
