Founder of Grand Slam Track, four time Olympic champion Michael Johnson, says Kingston was always high on the list of cities to host one of the stops in the inaugural staging of the series.
Kingston will host the first leg of this new global spectacle from April 4-to-6, 2025. Los Angeles is another host city with the other two to be announced later this week.
Johnson who was speaking at the Kingston launch at the Pegasus Hotel on Monday, says Jamaica’s capital ticks all the boxes for an event of this magnitude.
Rushell Clayton, Roshawn Clarke and Ackera Nugent are the Jamaicans who have been contracted for the four meet track only series, but Johnson says there may still be more Jamaicans at the meet as they’re yet to fill out the lanes for the challengers.

Tickets for the Jamaica leg of Grand Slam Track will go on sale on December 6 at 10 am local time.
