JPL: Arnett Gardens Thrash Humble Lion

Arnett Garden were in spanking form in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League on Thursday whipping relegation threatened Humble Lion 5-1 at the Tony Spaulding Complex.

Giovani Taylor bagged a double to go along with other goals from Chavany Willis, Warner Brown and Jaheim Thomas.

Arnett are now on 42 points in third, two points behind second place Montego Bay United. While, Humble Lion remain rooted at the foot of the table.

Leaders Mount Pleasant Academy whipped Vere United 4-1 to open up an eight point gap atop the standings.

Kyle Ming opened the scoring for the home team after four minutes. Robino Gordon equalised for Vere in the 26th minute.

However, further goals by Shaquille Bradford, Sue Lae McCalla and Jahmarie Nolan carried the former champions to the impressive victory.

Mount Pleasant are now on 52 points, well clear of second place Montego Bay United on 44 points.

Also on Thursday, Portmore United and Molynes United played out a goal-less draw with champions Cavalier and Tivoli ended 0-0.
