Pre-race favourite, Marcinho Rose of Kingston College, lead all qualifiers into Thursday’s final of the Class-1 boys 400-metres at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championship now underway at the National stadium.
Rose posted 46.93 seconds in winning semifinal two. His teammate Amal Glasgow won semifinal one in 47-.45 seconds, with Omary Robinson of Jamaica College winning semifinal three in 47.60 seconds.
Meanwhile, Tonyan Beckford of Edwin Allen has the best time going into the semifinals of the girls’ race. She posted 53.37 seconds in winning heat three.
Kingston College again has the quickest time going into the final of the class two boys 400-metres.
Markel Smith ran 48.07 seconds in winning semifinal one.
Shanoya Douglas of Muschett High going in the final of the girl’s race. Douglas won semifinal one in 52.96 seconds.
Meanwhile, 17 finals are on the schedule for today. The day will be highlighted by the 100-metres finals in all classes.
The first final of the day, the long jump boys class two, is scheduled to go off at 1:10 pm.
The other finals on the day will be the 15,000 metres in all classes.
