Chief executive officer of the JMMB Group and chairman of the Economic Programme Oversight Committee, EPOC, Keith Duncan, has been appointed head of the Advisory Committee of the Jamaica’s Fiscal Commission.
Outgoing finance minister Dr. Nigel Clarke told the House of Representatives the commission is set to begin its work in January of next year.
The commission was created under the Independent Fiscal Commission Act, passed in 2021, to uphold Jamaica’s fiscal responsibility laws.
Dr. Clarke says the advisory committee will function similarly to EPOC which has maintained oversight of the country’s fiscal targets since 2013.
